"It definitely felt like I was there," Kate says and reaches for the beer that just hit the table. It's real Guinness, and Kate's taking advantage of it to drink lots and to skip right on over thinking any more about the way the island screws over kids like William. Because she's not letting that happen to Lilo. No. Fuck no.
She takes a sip, thinks of Will, and shakes her head again at a life where the only people she trusted for years are people she hardly sees. It's okay, though, and that's the weird thing. She'll drink the Guinness in new daddy's honor and try to catch up with him in a few days.
